6-day Fly In Moose hunt

Our moose hunts at our main fly-in lodges yield average Newfoundland size moose from 34-40 “. Yet each location will produce a couple and maybe more, trophies each year. These sites offer all amenities of home including starlink wifi, hot and cold running water, indoor plumbing and showers and a full time cook on staff, yet we do use various spike camps and canvas wall tents for overnighters away from the main lodges. Fly-in moose hunts are tough hunts, and one would need to be in good physical shape to expect excellent results. We would rate these hunts 8/10 on a difficulty scale

6 Day Trophy Moose Hunt

These hunts are offered on a limited basis. These hunts have yielded moose in the range of 42”-59” with the average around 43-46” with the largest one being 59” and a featured story in the Nov/Dec 2006 issue of Safari Magazine with a score that made # 7 SCI. These hunts are rugged and physically demanding with no cooks or running water. You will have comfortable small cabins or outfitter wall tents with wooden floors as well as wood stoves and a propane stove. We also offer some of these hunts from backpack tent sites given good weather conditions. Also, generator power is supplied. Truly an Adventure, but not for the faint of heart. Note that moose in the 59-inch range and are not that common in NL. The largest moose taken on this hunt in 2025 was a giant at 55”. 4 Moose over 50 inches were taken on this hunt in 2025. Every year we do take a couple moose over 50 inches on these rugged hunts. Please note these hunts are very physical and anyone considering this hunt should be in excellent physical condition, we would rate these hunts 10/10 on a difficulty scale.

5-Day Drive In Moose Hunt

Our ground access lodge offers moose hunting as good and less physically demanding and should be considered if you are not in reasonable physical condition. This ground access lodge though can also offer the fit hunter the adventure of a lifetime as here we have such a vast area that you can literally hunt on foot every day in different locations, a fabulous hunt indeed for any hunter. Success rate has been 82% on this hunt over the last 3 years and average bulls range between 28-32 inches in spread.This hunt is not a trophy hunt, it is considered a meat hunt. Accommodations for the ground-based lodge is a 12x16 wooden structured cabin with bunk beds for guests. Guides have a separate cabin that they will do the cooking in. Outdoor plumbing and bathrooms are used at this site.

6 Day Trophy Woodland Caribou Hunt

Efford’s Hunting Adventures offers you the best opportunity in the World today to hunt Trophy Woodland Caribou. Our main hunting Lodges at Sam’s Pond, Island Pond Lodge, Princess Lake and Seaplane Base Thorburn Lake Lodge is the base of our Trophy Woodland Caribou Hunts. We then operate tent camp and old log cabin sites that we fly to by bush plane, DeHavilland Beaver to give access to caribou movements. Our company floatplane is on site and as many moves that are necessary with our floatplane to and from various locations are included in your trophy caribou hunt adventure. Flights are weather dependant of course as we operate under VFR flight rules. Also, our sites at Sam’s Pond and Island Pond provide excellent opportunity for record book caribou. At Sam’s Pond, Island Pond and the tent camp sites, we hunt the Middle Ridge Herd of caribou that, according to biologists, are the biggest antlered herd in Newfoundland. Also, we do offer just 1 Trophy Woodland Caribou Hunt from our Princess Lake Lodge. We offer these trophy woodland caribou hunts during the rut, being early-mid October through first week of November. We do have our own aircraft, and we know where the caribou are located!!! At our tent sites we will provide a tent, a boat and motor, as well generated electricity Tents are outfitter heavy canvas wall tents perched on wooden floors with wood stoves as well as propane stove and generated power. Over the 2008-2025 seasons we delivered 100% success on our trophy woodland caribou hunts and that’s including archery hunting. Over half the caribou we take make the all-time Boone and Crockett record book.
